Sometimes people don't believe me when I say that I see bear tracks in the high country in winter, asserting that only the Yosemite Valley bears are active in the winter. Bears, though, are opportunistic foragers and if the weather is nice, any bear might get up and walk about in mid-winter. On this particular day it was very warm in the sun (comfy in short sleeve shirts) and the snow was melting fast, so I'm fairly sure that these tracks had been made within a few hours of our passing. We saw many older ones too.
