Initial slab traverse

At this point you pretty much break out of the manzanita for good and get up on the dry rocky slopes above. The hardest part of the hike is over (assuming that you are comfortable on slabs, of course). This is one of the steepest sections though and can be circumnavigated. Photo taken on descent.
