This is the last major cascade as the Tuolumne makes its way down to Pate Valley. It's the first one you encounter on your way up toward Glen Aulin. I think this was the original Waterwheel Falls back when what is called Waterwheel today was called Le Conte. Confused? Doesn't matter. Anyway you can see the switchbacks on the trail. Large cascades and waterfalls mean great beauty but lots of climbing for hikers!
