Bitter Dogbane (Apocynum androsaemifolium)
Bitter Dogbane (Apocynum androsaemifolium) is a low-lying bush found frequently at mid-elevations in Yosemite. It can be seen in abundance along the roadside on Hwy 41 near the Yosemite West turnoff and Chinquapin Junction. It has delicate white flowers in bloom and puts on a nice show in the autumn with its bright yellow leaves that create nice highlights along the roadsides.
