Mount Lyell from Tuolumne Meadows
Mount Lyell is the highest peak in Yosemite National Park and appropriately scenic. The trail is pretty busy, but once you leave the trail just before Donahue Pass, you won't see nearly so many people. The trail part of this excursion is part of both the John Muir Trail and the Pacific Crest Trail (in other words, fairly popular). For more information, see the main Mount Lyell page. Also, more pictures relevant to this hike can be found under wildflowers (White Heather, Mountain Heather, Sky Pilots) and animals (Cassin's Finch, Marmot, Belding Ground Squirrel). Hopefully I'll get galleries up for those before you read this. Will I ever get around to making actual cross-links? I doubt it.
