Eating, Cooking and Climbing in Italy

This is not exactly Yosemite news, but my friend Christian just sent an email out that he and his wife and another person will be leading trips to Italy that will combine hiking, climbing, cooking and eating in one trip. I had to put it here. After many trips to Europe and three years living in Switzerland, whenever people ask me where to go in Europe, I always say "Italy". I love France too, but there is something about Italy. And I've hiked in the Cinque Terre and mountains nearby. This trip will likely be amazing. Here's Christian's blurb:

Yosemite Explorer back up and running

Well, I've been out of it for a while. Theresa had a bad accident on October 22 that you probably already know about if you're local. Crushed by a boulder causing serious spinal damage but, miraculously, the injury was mostly to the vertabrae (5 fused now, from S1 to L2), but almost no nerve damage. So we're back in Yosemite and she's already walking.

Furthermore, I upgraded the backend to the site so that I would not get inundated with comment spam, so hopefully I can finally get back to adding trails, routes, ski tours and news!

New Deals Section

I've started the new deals sections, which are divided into Books and Maps on the one hand and Gear (hard and soft goods) on the other. If you see something out there on the net, let me know and I'll let everyone know. We'll see how this works.

Accepting Comments now

I thought I had it set up to notify me when someone commented, but that wasn't working, so your comments were just stuck in the queue waiting for approval. This is because mostly comments that come through are spammers advertising... bad things. Let's leave it at that.

Now that it's been three years since I bought my first digital camera, I think I might have enough photos to answer the question for at least a few trails and climbing routes. I'm not a photographer, per se, and my pics are nothing like Tuan's Yosemite Photos (Tuan is hands down the be
