Both the common and Latin name fail to do justice to this brilliant roadside bush. Little-Leaved Ceanothus (Ceanothus parvifolius) . The brilliant purple bushes along Hwy 41 between Glacier Point Road and Grouse Creek and a nice splash of color. It is a common component of the sequoia groves and grows in abundance along the road to the Crane Flat helipad.
