One of several flowers with the common name Spring Gold, Lomatum utriculatum is very similar looking to Torrey's Lomatium (L. torreyii), but the ranges do not overlap. L. utriculatum is a low-altitude dweller. These pictures were taken along the south fork of the Merced on the Hite's Cove trail. It is common to see L. torreyii up on the trail from Glacier Point to Sentinel Dome and somewhere I have pictures of those as well. In any case, according to Botti, the upper range of L. utriculatum is 1500m, while the lower range of L. torreyii is 1800m. So though they look quite similar, within Yosemite elevation should be a good guide.
According to Calflora, it also goes by the common names Bladder Parsnip and Hog Fennel.
