The Western Wallflower (Erysimum capitatum) is widespread throughout California in many varieties and with considerable variation. Officially, Calflora list Erysimum capitatum ssp. perenne as the Sierra Wallflower or Mountain Wallflower, growing between 7000 and 12000 feet and the omnipresent Erysimum capitatum ssp. capitatum.

Wallflowers can have dense or sparse heads of flowers and vary from yellow to deep orange.
